Prepare your students for Common Core assessments, like PARCC and TNReady, with this product. This activity makes a perfect independent or small group center for students to practice identifying the meaning of various types of figurative languages in literature. Students will read a piece of literature. Then, the students will choose the best definition of figurative language used in the text as well as the text evidence that supports the selected meaning. The first activity is hands-on and can be completed independently or within a small group. The second activity, with a new text, is designed as an independent practice page or assessment.
