Figurative Language for middle school!
Tie Dye Language is jam-packed with multiple meaning words, inferencing, similes, metaphors, idioms, and emotions/perspective taking. Made with the tween-teen student in mind, this resource is loaded with fun activities working on the frontal lobe of the brain.

Students will learn some slang from the 60s and 70s as well as enjoy the full color spectrum of idioms. I use these activities and bring the theme into my room by having the students choose pet rocks, tie die shirts (for summer school), and make their very own lava lamps (directions included).

Also included are data point pages from baseline to mastery of the following skills: multiple meaning words, inferencing, similes, metaphors, idioms, emotions/perspective taking.

Because it is a color-rich document, I’ve included printable pages without backgrounds, which may be used for work in school or as homework carry-over.
