Our 20 engaging Figurative Language multi-choice challenges will grab your students' attention and help to improve their vocabulary. These English Language Arts Literacy cards include seven types of figurative language: idiom, hyperbole, simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, alliteration, and personification. They are great for early finishers, bell ringer activities, or homework.
Each card contains a short passage and is numbered so students can keep track of the cards they have completed. Students can also complete the answer sheet that is provided.
In this resource, you will receive:
- 20 Challenge Task Cards (five for each type of figurative language)
- 7 definition cards that explain the meaning of the various types of figurative language
- An answer key
- A student answer sheet.
This resource is provided in both US and UK/AU and New Zealand spellings and paper sizes.
