This mystery picture gives students practice determining which type of figurative language is used in each sentence. The students will decide if sentences are examples of simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, idiom, analogy, and symbol. This can be used as a mini-lesson, or it can be added to literacy centers. This can also be used as an activity right before Thanksgiving break. I also included the SAME figurative language sentences WITHOUT the mystery picture in case you need for students to review or if you need a quick assessment, but you don't want the students to color the picture.
