PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a three-step worksheet for students. The beginning dictates that students listen to Todd Rundgren's "Onomatopoeia." This song can be found on YouTube and is 1:36 long. During this time, I had my students highlight three of their favorite onomatopoeias to use as a reference. Next, students will listen to a story and pull four onomatopoeias from the book. The worksheet can easily be edited to change the story title and author, I used Penny Dale's "Ten in the Bed." On the backside of the worksheet students will create both onomatopoeias and situations during which onomatopoeias are used. The worksheet allows for a lot of creativity and my fifth graders responded really well to this activity.
