*Differentiated Materials for Low, Middle, and High Groups!
*Project on Alliteration, Similes, Metaphors, Hyperbole, Onomatopoeia, Idioms, and Personification
I found that this was a great way to have students work with figurative language (FL) no matter their ability level. My students loved working in groups of 2 or 3 and were very creative.
Students in the low group (Group 1) focused on matching the materials I'd already created but were required to draw pictures of at least one example of each type of FL. My higher ability students (Group 3) were able to create an entire booklet with no additional materials other than the directions. The middle group (Group 2) nestled nicely in the middle with a moderate level of support.
