This puzzle helps students practice identifying similes, metaphors, personification, and hyperboles.
-Print out the puzzle sheet.
-Cut on the lines and bundle the puzzle pieces together in a baggie or with paper clips. -(I made 18 of these so that my students can work in groups of two.)
-One page =one puzzle.
-Print yourself a copy and don't cut it out so that you can have an answer key.
-Have your students work individually or in groups of two to match the literary devices with examples of them. When they finish, they can raise their hands and you can check to see that everything was matched correctly.-
The kids love this challenge!
Print this out on card stock or on colorful paper and use it year after year. I store all of the puzzles in separate baggies and put them all in one large baggie so I can pull them out next year.
I have other puzzles like this in my store! Check them out!
