Purpose of the activity:
This is an independent learning activity that allows students to discover different types of figurative language (simile, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, pun, alliteration, and idiom) in a fun and creative way. Students can scan QR Codes on their smart devices and learn each of these figurative languages on their own. In addition, they participate in a fun decoding activity where they must correctly answer a question on each sheet, and decode a riddle. With each QR Poster you receive a description of what each figurative language is, examples, and a YouTube video.
