To complete this activity each student (or a group of students) has to have their own Smart Phone, iPod Touch, iPad, etc…that has a QR code reader app downloaded on it.
Students will go to different stations and identify the figurative language found in each code. There are 6 definitions, 13 song lyrics, and 6 commercials for a total of 25. They will circle the correct answers on a provided handout. At the end of the activity there is a QR code answer key if you choose to use it!
I had a lot of fun with this activity! The students enjoyed the technology and the movement. Because they were so happy, the classroom was not chaotic at all (which I feared that it might be). It was a fun way to review for the day!
As long as your school has not blocked Google Drive, your students should be able to do all the activities including the videos (You can test three of the codes in the preview!).
