Types of Figurative Language included are Similes, Metaphors, Personification, Alliteration, Onomatopoeia, and Hyperbole.
This carousel activity allows students to start on any question but instead of working clockwise around the room, the answer they get dictates their next question. For example, if they work out question "A" and get the answer "simile", they'd look around the room for the paper with the answer "simile" on it. Then they would work out that problem, find the answer, and continue on until they are back to where they started. It is easy to see if students are getting answers right by checking if there letters are in the right order.
I print the carousel problems on colored paper to make them stand out when I tape them around the room. To change up the Solution Word or Phrase, just place sticky notes with the new letters on top of the ones already there. A great way to personalize it for your class!
