I created this incomplete set of notes to use as a scavenger hunt activity to learn/review figurative language with my students. This went hand-in-hand with another FREE TPT download found here. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Figurative-Language-1634812
I placed types of figurative language signs up around the room and gave students a two-sided copy of this scavenger hunt page. It was their job to move quietly around the room and discover the missing information to complete the table. After about 20 minutes we discussed the correct answers and shared examples.
Note: Proverbs and Adages are combined. Similes and Metaphors are separated. Other terms include: onomatopoeia, alliteration, hyperbole, idiom, and personification. Answer key provided.
