This review game is for practice after teaching a lesson on figurative language. There are 25 questions (5 questions in 5 categories). The students will see a sentence with a figure of speech included (not marked). The student must determine what type of figurative language is being used (Simile, Metaphor, Idiom, Hyperbole, Alliteration, Personification). There are more than one answer to some - but I only included a best choice answer. You can use your judgement and change answers if you prefer.
For those not sure of how this game works, you run the PowerPoint as you would a normal slide show. You click on the category/value that the student chooses. The students read the question and answer the question. You press the space bar or enter to advance the slide by one. You then click the smiley face to return to the game board. The question that the student chose SHOULD be changed to a purple font instead of blue. You will have to keep up with points on your own. There is no where to record on this game.
