Figurative Language is the focus of this slideshow. It introduces/reviews the major types of figurative language. The slideshow begins with a quick introduction of what figurative language is and why should a writer use it. Each slide showcases one type with the definition, example, and illustration.
The slides have engaging transitions, and on each slide each nugget of info is presented one at a time. Just click and the next piece appears.
I chose to display this way so the children won't be overwhelmed with text. The slideshow could be printed off for notebooks or a class book . It is uploaded in Quicktime and Keynote. The activities include a drama, notebook resource, collection page, cut and paste activity, and a checklist for students to assess which types they used in their own composition.
