8 Define it - Students identify type of figurative language described by each definition.
8 Identify it - Students must identify the type of figurative language used in the story.
8 Write it - Students write a sentence with each type of figurative language. Then they identify the type of figurative language they have written.
After completing the task cards, students create an original story about a day in an amusement park. The completed book makes a wonderful bulletin board display. They write about the rides pictured and must include figurative language on each page. Planning/Brainstorming pages are included. Story ideas to guide in the writing of the book are included. In addition, a figurative language handout and student directions are included.
