Product Description
This is a set of cards to cut out and use for a sorting activity to sort 12 examples of figurative language to the type that they are including: simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, alliteration, hyperbole, imagery. There is another set of 22 idioms and then their figurative meaning. This could be broken into two sets or more to use at literacy centers or as a collaborative group activity. Hands on sorting and discussion. This would also be great for ESL students or LEP students. Figurative Language and idioms are extremely tricky. See my store for MANY more resources to use when teaching figurative language.
Print out on colored cardstock and laminate or glue each onto an index card to make sturdy centers. Answer keys included. Place them in a bag and they are ready! Thanks!
