Product Description
Fun activity to help students learn about and understand commonly used figurative language. As a class, you will go over examples of commonly used similes, metaphors, idioms, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification, and hyperbole. Then, students will write their own examples (I encourage students to write at least two examples) of each literary device and share them with a partner. Once students have their examples of all 7 commonly used literary devices, show them how to make a pocket book/8-page book (super easy, directions included!). Students write their sentences on the paper provided and draw a picture to go along with their sentence(s). I have also included an 11x17 sheet you can print out (with directions attached) if that is easier for you.
