This interactive SMARTboard lesson provides a lesson and practice in identifying and using figurative language. It begins with a description and example of the different types of figurative language such as: metaphor, simile, alliteration, idiom, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, and personification. Slides follow that allow practice in determining what phrases mean using figurative language. A scoreboard is included so the lesson may be used as a game with teams if your prefer. It can also be used as a mini-lesson or as independent work in a center or station because all slides are self checking. All slides are linked for very easy use. Created with Smart Notebook 11. Great for introducing figurative language, continued practice, or even remediation.
