This sorting activity can be used as a center or independent activity. It could also be used in small group to review or teach products, multiplication and factors.
Print out the pages and glue them onto a file folder (or just laminate them) and allow students to match the penguin products to the igloos with multiplication facts on them.
Students should find the igloos that the penguins are "allowed" to enter by multiplying the fact on each igloo and then finding the penguin product that matches. Students will record their answers on the recording sheet. Each penguin can go into 2 different igloos.
This center activity is differentiated. It has shape coding on some pages to narrow down the igloos for students to match to each penguin. It also includes pages without the shape coding for those students that need a bit more of a challenge.
This activity includes:
Penguin Product Cards (2 sets-one shape coded and one not coded)
Igloos pages with multiplication facts (2 sets-one shape coded and one not coded)
