This game supports the learning of equivalent fractions as well as a hands on approach to adding fractions. The game relates halves, fourths and eighths, as well as halves, thirds and sixths. Each student gets a game board. The fractions pieces go in the middle for all players to use. The game cards go face down in a pile. Players take turns drawing a card and doing with the card says. If a fraction swap can be made, players do so. For example, if a student has 2 eighths pieces, they can say 2/8 is the same as 1/4. They then can trade for the one-fourth piece. If a student has to give away a piece, they may have to trade first. For example, if a student has 1/3 and has to give away 1/6, they will need to trade 1/3 for 2/6 because they are equivalent. The first player to exactly fill up their game board wins. This can be played with 2-4 players.
