This powerpoint file includes instructions and all the slides needed to play a whole class game of 'Fill Me In Funnies'.
Each slide asks the students to write down a particular word, such as a noun, adjective, verb or adverb. The teacher's notes can be used to determine what sort of word would be best suited, for example, a plural noun.
The following slide shows a sentence with a missing word - this is where their chosen word fits in. They will end up creating some sensible, some silly and some hilarious sentences! Points can be awarded to the 'best' sentence, with a winner at the end.
Some slides ask students to write down a combination of words, such as a verb and a noun, as there are two missing words in the following sentence.
It can be played as one long game or as a quick starter to a lesson over several weeks. In total there are 24 different 'fill in the gap' sentences.
