It is often difficult to teach essay writing in the high school inclusion classroom. Students many times lack the necessary fundamental skills needed to produce the kinds of essays they should be producing. So, I have created a fill in the blank essay which scaffolds that for them. This outline (sort of closed notes style) version of an essay provides information that often distracts students from focusing on what teachers would really like them to focus on which is providing specific evidentiary support and explain that support with specific examples. This fill in the blank essay focuses on the thematic strand or motif of questioning faith that occurs throughout the novel.
