In this lesson, students fill in the blanks on a flowchart that explains the path that a glass of water takes through the organs of the digestive tract, to the bloodstream, and then through the organs of excretion. This allows the students to make a connection between the two body systems, and answer the often asked question of why fluids and solids exit from two different openings. A separate sheet contains the word choices, and an answer key is included.
