This is my complete film studies course, adapted to better fit the needs of middle school students: 427 slides and 152 film clips accessible via the web (the password is on the last slide). Topics include: camera distance, camera angles, the history of the movies, lighting and color, camera movement, film genres, movie musicals, composition, lenses and focus, film comedies, editing, sound design, auteur theory, and particular films. PowerPoint versions of the slides are also available (just email me after purchase for them due to their large size). As you can see, this is offered at a substantial discount over purchasing all of the individual units for $107 (all of which are also available, should you prefer to go that route).
This course is an appropriate length for an every day semester course or full year alternate day course. While I call it "middle school edition," I feel this is perfectly appropriate for high school students as well. The course has not been simplified, the biggest difference is the replacement of R-rated films (for the full length films) and clips that included excessive violence, sexuality, or bad language. In addition, I have made additions and improvements throughout the course.
I know the price is high, but this was the result of countless hours of work, plus, think of how much easier the course will be to teach without having to juggle hundreds of DVDs! Buyers will also have access to all future updates or additions to the film clips.
As you can see from my Q&A, ratings, and reviews, teachers love my film units and are very happy with my customer service. I hope this makes you feel secure in your purchase.
Thanks for considering my unit!
