Looking for a fun and creative way to end the school year in your Drama class? This project is a great way to assess your students on the last day of school! This handout directs your students to work in pairs to prepare a board game relating to theatre trivia, a play, or any unit of study you covered this year. The PDF includes a rubric for you to assess the work and a peer review rubric.
Introduce this project a couple weeks before the day of the final exams. I recommend spending a couple of days in the media center or computer lab to allow students to research and brainstorm with their partner to get the project started. A couple of days later, I have my classes return to the computer lab to complete the final touches of the game with their partner. You may want to provide craft materials at this time as well. (File folders opened up are great for the board itself.)
On the day the project is due, have the students set up their games at different stations with the directions. Then have students travel in groups of 4 to each station to play the games. This will require students to read the directions, play the game and assess all the parts of the project. A peer review rubric is provided for this process.
My students love this project and have a lot of fun on the last day of school walking down memory lane remembering all that they learned in the year!
