Students are required to pick an occupation and go through a monthly of paying bills. They are required to calculate their with-holdings, purchase a car, buy gas, rent a home, pay their power bill and cell phone payment, purchase groceries, and make other decisions such as pets and entertainment. This lesson could be used in a social studies, economics, or math course. Students will determine if they are able to save more or spend less at the end of the month. Students will also determine things they did not have to pay for such as emergencies.
