I created this simple icebreaker activity for my group of English Language Learners that are all adults and all various levels. It's a great way to get the students talking and learning more about each other.
These questions can be customized, I left the document editable so you can change some of the questions and images to things more relevant to your group (depending on where you live, ages of the students, etc).
I also gave the option of making it more challenging for more advanced students to push for a more detailed response. ie. In addition to asking if they have children, they follow it up with the question "How many?" if the response is "yes."
- Try and give the students clipboards so they can get out of their seats and walk around
- First do an example on the screen (if possible) to show they need to write the person's name in the box and not just "Yes" or "No". And that if the response they get is "No" they need to either ask another question or turn to find someone else.
