This is a great activity that gets students out of their seats and interacting with their peers to create a fun poem.
Each student receives a "Find Someone Who" chart, then they must circulate around the classroom to find people who can create a line for one of the empty boxes. The trick to this activity is that students cannot use the same line twice.
When their boards are full. It's time to work! Students must create a poem out of the lines their classmates wrote for them. I allow them to change tenses and pronouns to control some of the madness, but for the most part, they must create a poem using all the lines that they were given.
I highly recommend this creative activity; it gets students to work together and get out of their seats, breaking up the traditional writing class atmosphere.
