This is a review game that is a modification of a commonly used ice breaker activity. The inequalities solved here require knowledge of distributive property, solving with variables on both sides, and flipping the inequality sign when multiplying and dividing by a negative number.
Students fill out the worksheet by walking around the room and finding other students who can answer the questions on their sheet (find someone who can answer each question). The questions each require the inequality to be solved and then graphed. Students should check each others work when the sheets are handed back as well. Students will continue to exchange sheets with each other, filling out a maximum of one space on each other’s sheets until all questions are completed.
I use this game as a review and encourage students to make sure they are solving as many different problems as possible instead of solving the same problem over and over. I also provide a key for students to check their work once they have completed the sheet.
