"Zero Prep" for this folks!
I am looping with two out of my four middle school math classes and needed something to "break the ice" even though we already know each other!
All they will want to do when they enter those doors will be to talk about what they did over the summer.
This just gives it some structure and puts you in control :o)
1 Copy and distribute
2 Have students read the list of activities and "sign" their name next to any/all the activities that they participated in over the summer
(Early finishers can list additional activities personal list on the back of the page)
3 When students are ready have them to go find students two students that did the same activities and have those students sign under "student 1" and "student 2"
4 End with a discussion about the most/least popular items on the list and that despite our differences, we have so much in common with each other.
