This is a perfect icebreaker for ESL classes of adult students.
This can be also used as a review of tenses for pre-intermediate students.
I recommend this for a big class or if there are only a few students, you can use it to interview a partner in class.
Here is how to do this activity.:
Students mingle in the classroom and ask as many people as possible until they find someone who does/did/is going to do an activity. Once they find someone, they should write the person's name on the right column.
Or you can differentiate the activity if you would like to elicit wh-questions from students. Students write their own information relating to the question then find someone who has the same information with them.
For example, I go shopping at the mall every weekend and my partner (Nancy) also goes shopping at the mall every weekend. Then I have to write Nancy on the right column.
So, the aim of this activity is to create a complete question/sentence by oneself and to talk with as many people as possible. Please do not forget to model the activity with a few students.
Plus, this file is editable on WordProcessor.
I am sure you will have fun during the lesson! Thank you for downloading :)
