- Product Description
Shapes unit is one of my favorite units to teach in K-1. The reason for this is because there is so many creative ways to teach this. Therefore, this product was first created to use with my kiddos in the classroom. While using this for the shape unit, I saw how successful the students felt when completing the worksheets. The worksheets are simple, but helps students with the areas needed for 2D shapes.
1. Small groups – I used these in plastic sheet protectors. The students worked directly on them using dry erase markers. I was able to quickly wipe them down with a wipe and have them ready for the next group.
2. Independent work – I would provide these for students that I felt could read the directions on their own. Even if the students cannot read the instructions, the teacher can read it to students that are able to follow directions. The students can then complete the worksheets on their own.
3. Math notebook – I know many of you are thinking how can this be used in a math notebook. It’s more for grading/documentation. I shrink the size of the paper (through the computer or copier) and have the students complete the worksheet and glue it into their math notebooks.
