Need a way to make school supply vocabulary apply to real life?
This structured speaking activity a great stepping-stone on the way to that spontaneous speech we all aim for! Students need constant reinforcement of new vocabulary through speaking in order to boost well-rounded proficiency, and this activity is a great way to get students talking without making them feel overwhelmed or discouraged.
This activity also gets students up and moving. With my lethargic high schoolers, that’s always a plus!
On the worksheet is a list of school supplies (pen, pencil, paper, etc.), and students go around the room to interview classmates until they find another student with each supply. Sample questions and answers are provided on the worksheet so students have guidance on how to speak to each other.
Also included in this download is a teacher guide for how to conduct this activity!
