Graphing Activity on excel or paper
This is part of a 5E Science Unit on Weather and Air Masses.
In this activity students collect weather data on Excel (or you can copy it to another spreadsheet like Google Sheets), and then graph and analyze it. I use it as a summative evaluation piece of the 5E procedure. Students exhibit their knowledge of how air masses moving past the weather station will affect air pressure, temperature, precipitation clouds, wind speed, and humidity.
This file is interactive. The graph changes as data is added. Of course you can let students build their own graphs instead if you desire. Instructions on using the graphing activity as well as follow up questions are included. To make the activity longer students can collect the data themselves over several weeks or you can use the pre-collected data and just let students analyze it for a quicker activity.
