Find the Kapok Tree Rainforest Activity Subtraction Fun Through 5
You can play as many as 4 people with this activity . Begin at the blue square (I like to use magnets for place counters and a metal cookie sheet but I have also added a few tokens that the students can use as place counters.
First draw a card –subtract the equation on the card if the student gets the equation correct then he or she move that number. For example 5-2=3. The student moves 3 spaces. There are different paths a student can take to get to the Kapok tree. Some of the cards have different directions so sometimes the kids have to do what’s on the card instead of doing an equation. The student that reaches the Kapok tree first is the winner. I have added a page of counters so if your students need a little extra help they can use the counters. Have fun! By Sparkling Diva Teacher
