Do your students need more practice with reading a full article and identifying the main idea? Well, this package contains 12 informational articles/passages that work well for practicing main idea.
You can have the students work in partners so they take turns reading the article and then discuss what the main idea may be and tell what evidence in the story leads them to believe in their answer. Or, the students can discuss the main idea in small groups, or maybe whole group. I added a few ideas of how these articles can be used, including:
-Cut off the title and heading photo of the articles. After reading the articles, match the the title with the correct article.
-Glue the title and heading photo to one side of card stock and the article to the other side. Have students read the article and guess what the title may be.
