On each page, the student is expected to make/ draw/ add dots to the empty side of the ladybug in order to make the total number found on the ladybug’s head. For example- if the number on the head is 6, and there are 3 dots on one side, the student will add 3 to the other side.
When done, the student writes a number sentence using the boxes on the bottom. For example, the student might write 3+3=6.
The numbers on the ladybugs’ head start from 4 and goes to 10. At the end of each number, there is a summary sheet that allows the student to record different ways to make each given number from 4 to 10. For example, one recording sheet might look like this:
These worksheets can be used as instructional tools, in a small group lesson, as a math center, as a unit review, given as homework, or in any other way you see fit.
The absence of distracting graphics such as borders and other decorations are a purposeful design choice to prevent pulling focus away from the learning and task at hand.
