These 52 task cards ask students to determine the missing number in a subtraction problem. The first set are missing the subtrahend, and the second set are missing the minuend. The highest number is 10, so the differences (answers) for each problem will be between 1 and 9. Each task card is assigned a letter of the alphabet to avoid confusion of so many numbers on the card. You can mix up the sets if you want to swap out Set 1, Card R for Set 2, Card R, etc. The task cards have a box for students to fill in with the number that would make the expression true.
Included are the following:
- A "Directions" Sheet
- 12 sheets of 4 task cards each, with 2 sheets of just 2 task cards
- A Recording Sheet
- An Answer Key for Missing Subtrahend
- An Answer Key for Missing Minuend
- An Answer Key for You to Create if You Want to Mix Up the Cards
Please let me know if there is a way that you would like me to vary this task to best fit your needs for your students.
