2017 Google Interactive Membership {GROWING BUNDLE} - Current & Future Products

This ❤ EMOJI Google Interactive Activity ❤ is an engaging practice of "Finding the Slope of line from GRAPHS" . Students will build an EMOJI

GOAL of this Activity
Students are given a total of 12 Ordered Pairs. For each of the ordered pairs they're asked to find the slope of the line graphed using Rise/Run. The ultimate goal is that every student would need to successfully use this form of the slope formula to calculate the slope.

The value of the slope maybe:
positive
negative
m = 0
m is undefined

Students are expected to be familiar with:
☑ Slope Formula: Rise/Run
☑ How to reduce a fraction to its simplest form (if needed)

How does this activity work?
Students will be constructing an EMOJI. There are a total of 12 questions. Students would need to find the correct value of the slope, then, copy and paste the puzzle piece that matches that value into the EMOJI board. Then, when all pieces are found, student is expected to correctly put the EMOJI pieces together to form the EMOJI.

This activity includes the followings:
☑ Instructions on how to obtain the Google Interactive Activity

☑ A detailed illustrated example on how to answer the questions
☑ Recording Sheet (if you like to collect students work instead of collecting their math journal )

When to Use?
This activity is great to assign as a homework, in-class work, Bell Work, using Google Slides. My students are always engaged with Google Slides. This is FUN is the new motto in my classroom. When I assign an activity to be completed at home, some students use their computers, some use their phones, while others use their IPADs. As long as there is a Google Drive there is a way.

As the answer key is included in the file. I usually share it when all assignments are turned in "Electronically"

If you like this activity and would like to add any other levels to it, please let me know. I'll be more than happy to expand it :-)
