Find the Shape: A 3D Shape Hunt
In the district I teach in, our second grade students are expected to know six 3D shapes: sphere, cube, cone, pyramid, cylinder, and rectangular prism Students need to know the name of the shape and how many faces, vertices, and edges the shape has. This resource was designed for my struggling students to get them out of their seats as they practice identifying shapes and their attributes.
Teachers: Hang the shapes up around your classroom for center time. I have included two sizes of shapes as well as color and blackline for each. Print one copy of the recording sheet for each student (one has a word bank and another does not). Have students hunt around your room for the shapes and get those wiggles out!
In my classroom, I also hang up pictures of everyday objects (included) so that they may practice identifying these shapes in everyday objects!
If you like this resource, please consider leaving feedback. I love creating materials for my own students and want to continue to make quality resources that others will find as useful as I do. If there is a way to adapt this to better fit the needs of others, please let me know and I would be happy to modify!
