Hey, guys! So as I was teaching our Oklahoma standard (4.GM.2.2-Find the area of polygons that can be decomposed into rectangles) the students became really good at the work I had been giving them, but when it came time to give the formative over the standard (from AlphaPlus) it was A LOT more complex than what they had been working with. So, I developed this page for teaching practice!
It is 6 questions, 2 questions are very simple, and 4 questions are very complex. The students have to make several cuts on the polygons, and use addition/subtraction to find unknown lengths before finding the area. I tried to make it a little more simple by only giving 3 multiple choice answers.
This can be used as a challenge for the super smart kiddos, as a whole-group teaching practice, or quick review.
I hope this helps!
