This resources is for grades 5-7.
Included are 10 activity mats and a recording sheet.
Students spin 2 spinners on their mat and find the factors of the pair of numbers spun, the GCF, create a fraction identifying the numerator and denominator, reduce the fraction using the GCF and then identify the fraction as proper or improper.
These activity mats are most useful if they are laminated. Students use the mat to do the work on and then record their final answers on the (paper) recording sheet. Otherwise, students will be spinning, writing, wiping and it will be difficult for you to assess. This way, they get to write on the mat, but you also have a paper with the work that they did for the entire activity.
The mats are clean and simple in their design. They are all similar, with identical instructions and layout. However, there is some variance in the level of difficulty - boards 9 and 10 being the most difficult and boards 1 and 2 being simplest.
