Common Core Standards require students to gain familiarity with factors and multiples. Encourage active and engaged learning with these task cards that have students using their knowledge of numbers to identify factors and multiples, prime and composite numbers, and reviewing odd and even numbers (students often have the misconception that all odd numbers are prime). You can use an online, interactive hundreds chart at a computer station, or your favorite, “go to” charts. Magnetic numbers on the side of a file cabinet organized into a hundreds chart is also a fun way to bring students together at a math center or station. I have even used number tiles and bottle caps and students have to “hunt” for their numbers!
A simple response sheet makes grading easy and “I Can” statements allow for self-reflection at the completion of these tasks. I hope your students have fun learning with this activity!
