• Students jot down words or phrases on the vocabulary worksheet as they watch.
• Students write guided sentences using grammar appropriate for their level. These sentences may be written as students watch or as a post-viewing activity.
Level 1 instructions: You might pause the video periodically and have students write about the main characters in the scene, helping them with vocabulary and reminding them of the correct usage of ser and estar.
Level 2 instructions: To help students see the distinction between preterite and imperfect, pause the video and have students say what is going on in the background at that moment when there is no action on the screen. Point out scenery, emotions, background actions, etc. and have students write about them using the imperfect. Then start the video and have students write about the main actions.
Level 3+ instructions: There are a variety of choices for using the subjunctive, depending on the level of your class. The first sheet is only noun clauses, and only present tense. The next two sheets use all of the subjunctive triggers, and include present and past tenses. Use the ones that fit your classes best.
