If you are introducing (or re-introducing) the topic of "Finding a Percent" this is a great resource (grade 6-8).
I've included instructions for making a "Percent Slider" which is a simple manipulative to aid students with finding typical percents. They are quick and easy to make and require materials teachers already have.
Included as well, are examples to work through with the class, via PowerPoint, using the slider as a manipulative. If you don't care to actually make the sliders, the strategy can still be applied, using the same principles, but with diagrams - great for visual learners!
Included as well are simple notes and examples to work through with the class, on finding 1%, 10% and 5% of a number.
-Three worksheets and solutions are included for finding the percent of a number, to help you assess your students' progress, at the conclusion of the unit.
**This product is included in a math bundle in my TPT Store.**
