A great way to add differentiated instruction into your classroom in a subtle way so that the students feel they are all working on the same thing!
This document is exactly what differentiated instruction is all about! There are two worksheets (a beginner level and an advanced level) with 20 problems on each for finding the perimeter of shapes. Give one of the 2 worksheets to each of your students as you feel appropriate for them. Then the students use the answers from the 20 problems to color a picture of a lady bug on the grid. What is great about this activity is that both worksheets (the beginner and the advanced) have the same final product!!! This will eliminate students from saying, "I want to do what they're doing," and it'll help the students to feel more like they are working on the same thing.
