If you know anything about my teaching style, you know that I love to use movies in my classroom to teach literary elements. Kids get tired of doing the same old assignments for identifying and analyzing these elements so sometimes I have to get creative!
For this assignment students will watch a movie (really any movie will do!) and take notes on different plot elements as they watch. After the movie, students will fill out a plot diagram based on their notes!
You could use this anytime in the year, but I especially like to use it before holiday breaks or towards the end of the school year when it's more difficult to range the kids' attention.
Entire movie guide bundle!
