PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity is for students to find poetic elements in songs. I give the students copies of the lyrics and this worksheet and let them complete it while the songs play in the background. I use it as a way to get them interested in the unit.

Songs: "Cowboy Casanova", "Never Say Never", "Next to You", "I Pray for You", "American Honey", and "At Last".

Poetic Terms covered: hyperbole, allusion, irony, personification, simile, pun, and metaphor.

Lyrics are NOT included due to copyright.
