This activity contains 7 polynomial functions in which students are given a factor or a root (irrational or imaginary) and asked to find the factored form of the function and all remaining roots. The polynomial functions are not easily factored and the lists of potential rational roots are extensive.
This activity is set-up so that students can work independently or in small groups with little to no whole-class direct instruction. QR code hints are associated with each question and students are able to scan these codes to receive hints on how to approach the question or the next step to take. I encourage my students to do as much as possible on their own, and to only use the hints as necessary. This set-up allows me to spend more time with those students who are struggling and allows those students who can move quickly with little instruction the opportunity to do so.
An answer key with worked out solutions is included in this file.
