This is a fun, supplemental activity for middle school students to apply their skills in finding the area and perimeter of irregular shapes. Completed student projects are individual in their results - no two alike! Objective: Students will explore and apply the formulas for determining area and perimeter of irregular shapes composed of polygons by using lettering to create their full name and/or words to calculate the total area and perimeter of the space used.
