This activity has 3 tiers based on student understanding.
In each tier, students are required to find the area of the shaded region applying their knowledge of multiplying and subtracting polynomials.
The high and medium tiers of this activity have extension questions.
The lowest tier leads the student to the concept behind finding the area of the shaded region and will then be able to complete the 2nd tier.
Each tier has a rubric where students can provide feedback to their peers.
